Hi y’all, Happy Monday! I hope you had a fun weekend. Does anyone notice anything different about the blog? Oh Yes, this blog’s got a new look! Okay, I’ll tell you how it happened.
Exactly on the 22nd of this month (October), I got an email from Emily of Blogger to WordPress.com asking if I would like a collaboration. I really was excited because this is like my first collaboration ever 🙂 She told me that they’re “an online course that helps new and established bloggers to improve their blogs and offer some great learning material for that purpose”. She also said they were looking for select bloggers to give a “Blog makeover” and that “my blog looks like a perfect candidate for that”. Whatever that means, I’m glad they selected my blog. I was surprised when she told me it would be completely free and that they would only require a testimonial from me to use across their social media. Of course, I could get on board with that! I told her that I would need some time to do my research and check them out before I could give her my answer. (Just because I’ve heard of some collaborations that are a scam).
Well, I did my research and decided to give it a try, I mean, what do I have to lose? The mere fact that I got the email when I was in the middle of giving the blog a makeover myself, felt divine. 🙂 Here’s a screenshot of the blog before the collaboration.
Emily started working on the blog immediately I gave her my consent, oh, she was so awesome! Bless her soul. She was always there to answer my many questions, promptly, patiently and yes, she was really professional. I’ve been thinking of going self hosted but I always thought it would be too stressful so I never even tried 🙁 It turned out all I needed was a little nudge and a help from Emily . She sent me some resources so I can learn all about self hosting and also recommended SiteGround for the web hosting. I went along with SiteGround, after doing my research of course, all me, no pressure from her. (A little story: I recently upgraded to the Premium Plan on WordPress but I missed getting a full refund because I was already a day or two over the 30 day limit. Sad, but I couldn’t wait a whole year more before going self hosted). She proceeded to move all my content, followers, blog posts and all, over to the new site host. I can’t say enough how thankful I was to her. Within few days, she sent me a preview of the new blog look and I fell in love instantly. (I wanted to keep the blue colour, after all,its my favourite 🙂 ). Here’s a screenshot of the new blog look.
Anyway, that’s what’s been up with the blog lately, I’m so proud of this new look.
*** This is not a sponsored post, I’m only giving my honest review about Blogger to WordPress because they did such an awesome job on my blog. This post wasn’t required of me. Emily made that clear 🙂
Thanks for checking out my blog! What do you think of its new look? You can stay awhile and enjoy other posts on the blog. Wishing you a great week.
